If you're looking for a unique culinary experience in a setting that's different from most Bucharest, then Musafir by Amarjit is the place to go.

Opening

We opened in the mid summer of 2009. We made our first steps spicing up the backyard of the patrimony building formerly known as the Bucharest Commodities Exchange. The dwellers of the place - a cluster of creative companies and concept stores that moved into the building known nowadays as The Ark gave a warm welcome to our non-conventional new kitchen which is actually an adapted shipping container. The small and cozy restaurant became the spot to stop when you are in the area both because of its menu containing both traditional Indian dishes for the connaiseurs and also original recipes of a gifted food artist coming from Punjab. The choosy clients can talk to the chef and have their customized dish, according to the most pretentious tastes.

Idea

The concept of the kitchen is that of live cooking you can see everything that is going on and you can talk to the restless cooks asking for more curry or another dash of sea salt with the Masala.

Food

Besides eating the sophisticated food made of all organic ingredients and seasoned according to the Indian Spices Board, one can also watch a good movie, and listen to nice fusion music, funk or new jazz.

Place

The place in itself has some special atmosphere; it is located in the backyard of the former Commodities Exchange building in Uranus-Rahova, which as of last year became the residence of a cluster of creative companies and the occasional site for art exhibitions, concerts and other cultural manifestations.
